and the marshlands
where the witches of Laarne used to live and where the noondevil
had his territory ... at the hottest moment of the day ....
The Vanhercke Family offers 2 charming studios in a luxurious Flemish
cottage style

Explore the quiet old valley of the Schelde and the Medieval atmosphere of
ancient Laarne. Stay a night, a week, or longer in a Vanhercke family's Guest
Cottage Studio. Built like typical Flemish cottages; they adjoin our 18th century
cottage and are nestled between the water castle and the nearby wetlands.
DESCRIPTION:
Built in the typical Flemish brick stone as luxury studios for 2/4 persons,
the Cottages are annexed to a 18th century cottage farm, which is located at
the foot of a natural park, that was formed by an old meander of the river Schelde.
The Guest Cottages have:
- Private entrances with sun terrace,
- Original sleeping corner with hotel twin beds.
- Working fireplace (for romantic evenings) in a cozy 'living' area, complete
with cable color television, (CNN/Sport Channel), DVD player, telephone, wireless
broadband internet, antique pine furniture, mini bar with selected Belgian
beers, wines and soft drinks/waters. Fully equipped modern oak wood kitchenette
and fridge.
- Luxury private bathroom with shower and toilet, hair dryer, and heated
towel dryer.
- Central heating.
- Safe private car parking .
Views of the old gardens (park garden - 0.8 acre, herbs garden - 0.1 acre,
cut-flower garden - 0.1 acre, orangery & greenhouses, fishing
pond - 1.5 acres) from the terraces are magnificent. A barbecue is at your
disposal.
Many different varieties of birds can be seen both in, and around the wetlands.
Remember to bring your cameras and VCR's.
